Maria Socratous

Maria Socratous was born and raised in London, of Greek Cypriot parents. A talented painter, she attended the Byam Shaw School of Art (now with Saint Martins Central School). She has a degree

in Art History, has taught painting, and exhibited successfully. She settled in Cyprus, not her original intention but which she now regards as an inevitable part of her life’s pattern. In Italy she took a course on icon-painting, a passion she is writing about. Besides painting and writing, Maria enjoys cooking, reading, and her adored grandchildren. Second and third books are underway.
